We are seeking talented and enthusiastic AWS System Administrators / Developers to join our dynamic team. As an AWS System Administrator or AWS Developer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining ours and our customers AWS cloud environments, assisting with system administration tasks, and contributing to the optimisation of cloud infrastructure. You will also play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled individual to gain hands-on experience in cloud operations and expand their knowledge of AWS. Responsibilities: AWS Infrastructure Management: Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, networks, and storage. Collaborate with senior developers and architects to design and develop AWS-based solutions that align with business requirements and best practices. Assist in the implementation and deployment of cloud-based applications, services, and infrastructure on the AWS platform. System Administration: Perform system administration tasks such as user management, server provisioning, and software installation on AWS instances. Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain security best practices, monitoring, and compliance within the AWS environment. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Contribute to backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and high availability of systems. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to maintain system reliability and performance. Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts or automation tools to streamline system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency. Documentation: Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and best practices. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their technical requirements and provide effective solutions. Stay Current: Stay updated with the latest AWS services, features, and best practices to recommend improvements and optimisations. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. An understanding of AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPC. Familiarity with Linux and Windows server administration. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices. AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus but not required. Additional Requirements: Occasional UK travel may be required to attend team/customer meetings, events, and training activities. At Origin8tive Ltd we do have flexible working arrangements but we see the value of our teams being co-located in Cheltenham. Talk to us at the application stage about what may be possible. Security Clearance requirements: Due to the nature of our work, a UK Security Clearance is required for a number of our roles. To qualify for clearance, you must hold a British passport and have lived in the UK permanently for 10 years (and have 10 years of travel history).
