This is an exciting opportunity for an Azure Data Engineer to contribute to the evolution of data services with our forward-thinking and exceptional client.

Our well-respected client provides a wide range of high-quality services and as their newly appointed Azure Data Engineer, you will join a dynamic and supportive Data & Analytics Team.

The Data & Analytics team are integral in delivering information analysis and reporting services to the business, clients, and partners. The team manages a range of Enterprise Systems hosted on-prem and are in the process of migrating to cloud-based services.

About your new position As their Azure Data Engineer, your role will be key to supporting the business and client teams with high-quality data to drive informed decision-making.

You will be responsible for managing and optimising data on an Azure platform, ensuring that data scientists and analysts have access to clean, structured, and useful data whilst working closely with other IT specialists, including application developers, to ensure that data flows seamlessly from different sources into the Azure environment.

You will be part of building and maintaining secure and compliant data processing pipelines using various Azure data services, transforming data for storage and analysis.

Key responsibilities: Cleanse, map, and transform data to optimise it for storage and use in line with business and technical requirements. Design, develop, and maintain innovative Azure-based data solutions. Automate tasks and deploy production-level code with unit testing, version control, and continuous integration. Load transformed data into storage and reporting structures such as data warehouses, real-time reporting systems, and analytics applications. Troubleshoot and support the maintenance of data pipelines and data warehouse systems. Work with stakeholders to help them understand and explore data to support their needs.

Essential knowledge, skills, and experience required: Previous experience as an Azure Data Engineer or in a similar data engineering role. Proven experience in building and optimising big data pipelines and architectures. Strong analytical skills, especially in working with unstructured data. Proficient in designing and implementing well-written code. Experience with data pipeline testing, from source to presentation layer including troubleshooting skills.

It would be beneficial to have: Experience with Azure services such as ADLS, Databricks, Stream Analytics, SQL DW, COSMOS DB, Azure Functions, and Serverless Architecture. Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerFx, Azure Logic Apps, and SharePoint Online). Experience in developing and enhancing PowerApps model-driven and canvas apps.
