We are looking for an experienced Azure Platform Engineer to join our client in the Utilities industry.

The successful candidate will be able to commute on-site to either their office in Windsor or Nottingham when required.

Required Skills/Experience: Champion operational excellence by leading the development and upkeep of Big Data platforms, ensuring adherence to best practices. Utilise tools such as Terraform and Ansible for provisioning and configuration management, with a strong command of Python and Linux scripting. Proactively manage and execute upgrades to Data Services infrastructure, maintaining service level agreements for the organisations Big Data Platform. Foster a collaborative environment, guiding Platform Engineers in crafting robust, scalable, and secure solutions. Engage with diverse business stakeholders to deliver operationally sound solutions, prioritising a customer-centric approach. Contribute to financial stewardship by collaborating with the Platform Engineering Manager to deliver systems and products within operational expenditure budgets. Bring technical expertise in Cloud platform infrastructure, specifically in Big Data environments like AWS and Azure. Implement data platform solutions, leveraging continuous delivery and integration tools including Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GIT. Demonstrate proficiency in *nix systems, particularly open-source Linux distributions like Ubuntu, and possess knowledge of Windows server builds and Powershell. Maintain a solid grasp of cloud networking principles, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Exhibit a passion for high-quality software, with a history of contributing to open source or personal projects on Github. Operate as a self-motivated individual who is approachable, transparent, and maintains a positive attitude. Have experience with SysAdmin, Operations, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering, showcasing a track record of maintaining and optimising complex systems. Job Responsibilities/Objectives: Championing industry-leading practices and methodologies to bolster the build and maintenance of our Big Data platforms. Orchestrating and executing upgrades across our Data Services infrastructure, ensuring high availability and adherence to SLAs. Collaborating with fellow Platform Engineers to develop resilient, scalable, and secure solutions that prioritise customer needs. Engaging with diverse business stakeholders to deliver operationally sound solutions. Assisting the Platform Engineering Manager in managing operational expenditure to align with financial objectives.
