Vacancy Name: B1 or B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer Base: Glasgow Overview of Role: Loganair operates a comprehensive network of scheduled and charter flights around the United Kingdom and beyond. The company continues to grow and develop, now employing over 850 members of staff across various departments, including Engineering, Flight Operations, Ground and Customer Services, Safety and Compliance, Commercial, Finance, and Operations. We have stations throughout the United Kingdom, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Inverness, Aberdeen, Kirkwall, and Sumburgh. In terms of aircraft maintenance, we support EMB 145, ATR 42/72, Twin Otters, and BN2 Islanders.
We have an opportunity for a B1 or B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join the engineering maintenance team at Glasgow Airport. If you have one or more of the above noted aircraft types on your Part 66 license, that would be welcome. However, if you do not, that is not prohibitive as Part 147 approved type training will be provided for applicants who possess the basic license qualifications and experience. Key Responsibilities
Assist the Station/Check Manager or Maintenance Supervisor in prioritising, organising, and completing the maintenance workload effectively to minimise delays and disruptions. Communicate effectively with the Station/Check Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, LMC, and the OCC staff on the maintenance status of aircraft and whenever that position changes. Perform defect investigation and scheduled maintenance in a safe and cost-effective manner and in compliance with the relevant approved maintenance data, organisational procedures, national authority requirements, and responsibilities to Loganair. Debrief flying staff regarding defects to ensure that this information is passed to LMC and the Station/Check Manager or Maintenance Supervisor. Carry out the support functions necessary to maintain aircraft availability to ensure the flying schedule remains on target. Responsible for the conduct and performance of staff under their supervision. Supervise tasks as required by the nature of the task and manpower available. Support the company operation when required at other locations. Communicate with fleet technical service engineers in matters of reliability, defect analysis, and defect investigation using appropriate channels. Communicate with the Station/Check Manager and Maintenance Supervisor on all matters regarding the efficient operation of the maintenance task, including Health and Safety, highlighting any shortfalls and improvements. Complete work packs, tech logs, and documentation in accordance with company procedures. Assist in promoting a ‘Continuous Improvement’ culture. Skills and Knowledge
