Based in the North West and looking for a B2B Commercial Director career move?

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be a pivotal part of the team scaling a digital native group with a portfolio of leading brands. Our client is a dynamic, successful UK-based digital native company with 8 leading brands respected for supplying quality products for home and commercial use. Co-founded by two industry veterans in 2006, they’ve expanded their portfolio of leading, well-respected brands with year-on-year growth. We’re now recruiting a B2B Commercial Director. Ideally, you’ll able to draw on prior success as a pivotal role contributing to the success of scaling revenue growth for perhaps a larger company. This is the opportunity to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond and reap the career development rewards that come with it as you lead your own team on that growth journey.

THE JOB

Reporting to the company’s founding Directors, as B2B Commercial Director you’ll lead the commercial activities of the company’s B2B portfolio of 5 well respected brands. You’ll create and deliver your short, medium and long term strategies, driving your Sales, Marketing and Customer Service teams to successfully achieve (and exceed) B2B commercial growth whilst maintaining excellent customer service. Drawing on your experience, you’ll cultivate commercial and technical innovation, keeping the business competitive. You’ll ensure best practices from your team from the CRM system flow, social media output, marketing campaigns, to customer service.

Strong in building supplier relationships and nurturing partnerships, keeping abreast of industry news will all underpin your ability to broker opportunities for new products and supplier opportunities. With sales in your DNA you’ll be motivated by exceeding expectations and have a nose for growth potential, always proactive in closing them in.

You’ll bring strong skills for budgeting, reporting and communication with the senior management team. You’ll spot opportunities to review pricing, look at cost reductions, and keep an ear out for market influences. Motivated by revenue growth, you’ll be seeking to replicate your previous impressive track record, and be driven to increase growth and value of a business.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL

6+ years of commercial leadership for an online B2B brand, whether personally responsible or contributing to the growth or value of the business e.g. scaling a £5m online business to £20m for example.

Experienced leadership of a sales, marketing and customer service team with excellent understanding of the marketing, sales and product functions

Familiarity of the regulatory and legal context within which businesses operate

Ability to extract and interpret/provide insight to detailed sales and financial data

Proven ability to think strategically and prioritise

Superb communication skills and effective people management style

Passion for keeping abreast of marketing and industry trends – seasonal shifts, market forces, algorithm updates etc.

Driven by the metrics with a passion for improvement which drives you to focus on creating and improving existing practices.

Excellent digital marketing knowledge, familiar with trading channels and levers with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude from your start-up energy and mentality

Energetic and enjoys a fast-paced environment to do great business

Collaborative with an ability to work with a variety of internal & external stakeholders

Regular management reporting, using internal bespoke systems and Power BI, undertaking quarterly business plan reviews of gross margins and profitability of product

LOCATION You’ll need to be able to drive but the office is within easy access to main roads (A580, M62, M57), and commuting from Manchester, Stoke on Trent, Liverpool, Chester, Warrington is all under 1hour by car. Don’t worry there’s plenty of free parking, as it’s very close to the Wildlife Park with access to regular coffee and food trucks throughout the day. Working hours are 9am – 5:30 pm Mon – Fri but we are open to discussing flexible working and hybrid work (3:2). Do note, that regular attendance in the office is important for this leadership role. It’s important you can drive and have access to a vehicle.
