Overview

As a result of continued growth, we have a newly-created opportunity for a Back End Process Development Manager to join the growing Pragmatic team in the North East of England. Reporting to the Director - Back End Engineering, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in the success of the team, and therefore the wider business. In this role, you will manage a talented and dynamic team of Engineers and Technicians, providing exceptional leadership and direction to lead the development of new and existing processes in Back End of Line (BEOL). You will empower team members to be proactive and solutions focused, and will lead by example by sharing the importance of change to all levels and encouraging others to embrace change positively. You will ideally have a strong background in semiconductor Back End processing, able to demonstrate innovation and process development, and have a proven track record of successful team leadership. Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of Engineers and Technicians in the development back-end wafer fabrication, particularly die singulation and laser processes. Investigate and develop new machines, processes and materials to provide robust and high-volume solutions before being handed over to the Operations Back End department. Foster close working relationships and collaboration with the Technology group and Back End Ops team to satisfy business needs. Develop a safe working environment for the team, ensuring all health and safety regulations and requirements are followed. Lead and mentor a team: provide guidance, training, and support to ensure work is completed to a high standard and on schedule. Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. Lead, communicate and collaborate with team members to enable a successful outcome on tasks within the department. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments as required on complex projects. Develop a thorough understanding of machine, material and process; translating into robust, high throughput solutions. Drive SOPs and Risk assessment creation/completion. Develop an excellent level of understanding of test equipment (R2R tester, bend testing, functional and VNA testing), the processes, results and be able to interpret the data to make informed decisions. Ensure the team collate results in a meaningful and professional manner, drawing conclusions and recommendations that are communicated effectively to senior leadership. Lead the team in working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Qualifications and Training

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject would be preferable (or equivalent Engineering experience in Back End semiconductor processes). Skills & Experience

Management of engineering teams in a semiconductor related field. Semiconductor manufacturing experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate both internally and externally. Experience of devising and leading experience, trials and DOEs. Experience in inlay assembly and R2R processing (desirable). Report writing. Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis. Microsoft Office proficiency.
