We’re looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer to lead backend initiatives across our Shopify platform and Business Central integration. In this role, you’ll design and implement solutions that enhance our website's performance, scalability, and functionality. You’ll also work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring our systems work harmoniously, meet business goals, and maintain top performance. Requirements • Experience: 5+ years of backend development experience, with at least 3 years focused on Shopify and ERP integrations (specifically Microsoft Dynamics Business Central). • Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics BC: Strong knowledge of Business Central’s API, data structures, and integration processes. • Shopify Expertise: Deep understanding of Shopify’s platform, including the REST and GraphQL APIs, and experience with custom app development for Shopify Plus. • Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Node.js, Python, or another backend language used for Shopify and BC integrations. • Database Management: Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar. • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to solving integration, data flow, and system performance challenges. • Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows. • Collaboration & Communication: Strong ability to communicate complex technical issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required). Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, or other automation tools. • Familiarity with serverless architectures, cloud functions, and headless eCommerce solutions. • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools, such as Power BI or Looker. • Knowledge of eCommerce metrics, inventory management, and order processing. We’re looking for a talented Senior Backend Developer with deep Shopify experience to help drive our growth, and they should have expertise in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (BC). This role is key to scaling our backend infrastructure, ensuring seamless data integration, and optimising our eCommerce operations. Responsibilities • Shopify Development: Develop and maintain custom backend features, integrations, and data management solutions within our Shopify ecosystem. • Microsoft Dynamics Integration: Manage and optimise the integration between Shopify and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to ensure smooth data flows for inventory, sales, and fulfilment. • API Development: Build, maintain, and optimise RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support frontend and third-party applications. • Data Management: Ensure accurate data synchronisation between Shopify, Business Central, and other systems, handling complex data transformations, error handling, and automation. • Performance Optimisation: Identify and resolve bottlenecks within our backend infrastructure to ensure a high-performing and scalable eCommerce platform. • Security & Compliance: Implement best practices for data security, ensuring customer data protection and compliance with relevant standards. • Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct comprehensive testing of backend systems to identify and address bugs, and maintain a high standard of code quality. • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior developers, contribute to code reviews, and advocate for best practices in backend architecture and processes. • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to Shopify and ERP integrations, and bring forward innovative ideas for improving our systems and processes.
