Job Title: Commissioning Project Lead – Electrical

What you’ll be doing:

\n
    \n
  • Planning and supervising commissioning activities
  • \n
  • Overseeing Electrical Rip outs for the weapons section
  • \n
  • Reviewing and authoring test documentation in relation to the weapons test section
  • \n
  • Reviewing and planning training and development of electrical engineers within the section
  • \n
  • Deputising for the weapons Managers in their absence and act as temporary lead, covering all weapons section meeting
  • \n
  • Liaising with other test departments to ensure safe control of work
  • \n
  • Ensuring all commissioning activities are met to accurately plan and budget
  • \n
  • Providing expertise & advice and guidance by acting as Subject Matter Expert at Test Group
  • \n

Your skills and experiences:

\n

Essential

\n
    \n
  • Commissioning Engineering experience
  • \n
  • Experience of reviewing electrical and weapons technical documentation and drawings
  • \n
  • Good knowledge of either Sonar, Navigation, Command Systems or external communications systems from either commissioning or maintaining experience
  • \n
  • Knowledge of safety controls & procedures in a high-risk operational environment
  • \n
  • Experience or knowledge with Instrumentation Systems including Electrostatic Discharge, Low Voltage Control, Data Communications & Fibre Optics
  • \n
\n

Desirable

  • Experience with Spice, SAP, or Primavera P6
  • \n
\n

The Test & Commissioning team:

\n

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, technical control & development of personnel in consistently achieving the following: Departmental goals, Performance metrics expectations, Milestones in accordance with the Contract Delivery Programme. You will have an opportunity to lead & manage a team of Engineers within the Weapons Test Section, coordinating input of information to the team from all engineering functions. You will be working on advanced weapons equipment, requiring a high specialist focus. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
