Job Title: Configuration Control Engineer

Salary: Circa £45,628 depending on skills and experience

\n

\n

What you’ll be doing:

\n
    \n
  • Providing SQEP oversight, particularly for CMC/SWSS areas of the Submarine ensuring engineering-produced artefacts meet quality and compliance standards
  • \n
  • Managing product configuration changes, documentation and traceability to maintain system integrity
  • \n
  • Understanding and articulating the impact of good and bad configuration control and baseline management across all areas of the submarine combat system, the platform, it’s through-life support and the documentation
  • \n
  • Configurating baselines and the processes and mechanisms to monitor and govern all aspects of products and systems throughout the engineering lifecycle
  • \n
  • Configuration Management Plans and input to the Project Management Plan
  • \n
  • Controlling baselines for design, support and project documentation
  • \n

Your skills and experiences:

\n
    \n
  • Degree in Engineering (ideally Systems Engineering) or a related technical discipline
  • \n
  • Knowledge of configuration management
  • \n
  • Knowledge of defence standards
  • \n
  • Experience in SWSS/CMC areas of a Submarine
  • \n
  • Knowledge of the complete engineering lifecycle with some experience of operating in a number of phases
  • \n

The Datum Pack team:

\n

The Datum Pack team is an ever-growing diverse team made up of a wide range of previous experience from Project management to engineering, therefore it brings together varying skillsets and experiences aligning with the nature of the work in Datum Pack. Joining this team allows you to be part of the future growth of Submarine Support in Barrow and also gives you the opportunity to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders including the MoD.

This role provides exposure internally across functions such as Engineering, Quality and Integrated Combat Systems so you will gain a wide range of understanding of how the business functions and how the submarine life cycle develops through to handover to in-service.

\n

We offer relocation support across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
