\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:
\n- \n
- Playing an active role all build and test & commissioning areas but is responsible for the governance within the specified area of build, system commissioning and Naval Reactor Plant (NRP) operation \n
- Providing Executive Authority to the Authorisation Group and ensuring that it conducts its business iin accordance with its Terms of Reference and remains within the boundary of authority (i.e. NRP/Site Safety Case) \n
- Contributing directly to build and commissioning planning and providing active input to functional or departmental strategy, developing plans to maintain AG governance in a changing regulatory environment \n
- Recognised as a key individual across the business beyond their peer group for their technical knowledge, experience and competence \n
- Responsible for ensuring the full scope of nuclear, product, environmental and personnel safety is adequately considered within Build, Test and Commissioning AG business \n
- Be regarded as a business SME on the commissioning and operation of the NRP and associated systems \n
- Responsible for the direction and implantation of all NRP, Building, Testing, Commissioning and Critical Operation throughout the plant life on the BAES Maritime Submarines Barrow Site \n
Your skills and experiences:

- Appropriate Nuclear experience \n
- Excellent Stakeholder management \n
- Experience of working within aerospace, defence and/or MoD packages \n
- Post graduate qualification in Nuclear Reactor Technology from Naval Nuclear Reactor Course (NRC) or equivalent \n

\nThe Authorisation Group team:
\nAs the Principal Engineer Manager within this team, you will oversee daily operations to ensure seamless functionality and safety. You will be responsible for ensuring correct implementation of safety cases, supervising authorisation groups, and maintain rigorous documentation standards for review.
\nYou’ll drive projects forward, adhering to appropriate timelines while ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role demands a proactive approach to safety and efficiency, making it ideal for a detail-oriented professional ready to lead and innovate in a fast-paced environment. This role will also provide exposure of the BAE Submarines business and you will have the opportunity to work with major stakeholders. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria
