An opportunity has arisen for band 5 RMN to join our team in Ty Llywelyn, Male, Forensic Medium Secure Unit working within the North Wales Forensic mental health team. Ty Llywelyn specialises in the assessment, treatment and support of people with a broad spectrum of enduring mental health needs who have committed or are at serious risk of committing a crime and require enhanced care in a secure environment.

Admissions come from a variety of areas including the prison service and high secure hospitals. Service users receive treatment and support to enable them to move on to lower levels of security or directly to the community. The unit benefits from having experienced Consultants, Specialty doctors, dedicated Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, nurses, and Social Workers.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job We are looking for ambitious staff with the desire for both personal and professional development. We offer regular clinical and managerial supervision as well as promoting continuous professional development to provide you with opportunities to progress and ensure that best practice is embedded in clinical provision. We support our staff through a well-structured Trust Induction, Mandatory Training, monthly professional and clinical supervisions, staff appraisals, robust Preceptorship Programme, support for continual professional development activities, Reflective Practice, staff meetings, psychosocial and team events such as team away days. Person Specification Qualifications Essential

NMC registered Pre-registration evidence in direct nursing care Knowledge of Mental health nursing Experience of providing holistic nursing care

Experience Essential

Experience working as a mental health nurse and assessing service users' health and well-being and the supervision of other staff and systems A good understanding of the Mental Health Act/ Mental Health Capacity Act Possess an understanding and have experience of multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working

Attributes and Abilities Essential

To prioritize and organise working day Able to exhibit good de-escalation skills and feel confident enough to use these on a regular basis Effective communicator
