An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic team providing mental health support within the community in Coventry. This role is available for both full-time and part-time applicants. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to individuals with mental health conditions, supporting their recovery and promoting independence in their daily lives. The role offers a competitive salary range of £20-£25 per hour, depending on experience.

Location: Coventry, United Kingdom Contract Type: Full-Time (Open to Part-Time) Salary: £20-£25 per hour (Dependent on Experience) Band: 5/6

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive assessments and interventions for individuals with mental health conditions, focusing on enhancing their functional abilities and independence. Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans to support patients in achieving their goals. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care for patients in a community-based setting. Support patients in managing daily living activities, including self-care, social interaction, and vocational skills. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, carers, and family members to ensure holistic care. Conduct risk assessments and contribute to crisis intervention strategies to ensure patient safety. Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on managing mental health and improving quality of life. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with legal and professional standards. Ensure compliance with safeguarding protocols and participate in relevant training and CPD.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

A recognised degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy. HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist. Experience working in mental health settings, ideally within community-based care. A solid understanding of mental health conditions and their impact on daily functioning. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. A person-centred approach to care with a commitment to supporting patients' independence and recovery. A proactive approach to professional development and learning. Ability to manage a caseload effectively and provide quality care under pressure. Driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.

Desirable Skills:

Previous experience in a Band 5 or Band 6 Occupational Therapy role. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and safeguarding protocols. Experience with therapeutic interventions such as CBT or other mental health therapies. A passion for working with people and helping them achieve their full potential. Experience in providing training or mentorship to junior staff members.
