Band 6/ 7 Occupational Therapist
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Woking and Sam Beare Hospice for an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our friendly therapy team, delivering and developing palliative care therapy services for people facing progressive and life limiting conditions across our catchment area in North West Surrey. Our therapy team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Therapy Assistants. We work closely with a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Palliative Care doctors, our Hospice at Home team, Counsellors, and Complimentary Therapists in our Wellbeing Centre. The locations we see patients in are varied and this post involves community as well as inpatient work. The ability to travel in your own car to visit patients at home is essential. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Occupational Therapist who is patient focused and passionate about palliative care. Ideally, you will have some experience in oncology, respiratory or palliative care or other transferrable skills that can be utilised. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with patients and staff at all levels are essential. This is a part-time role and would suit an experienced Band 6 OT with the potential to progress to a Band 7 once in post (development opportunity), or an existing Band 7 seeking a new challenge. If you would like to discuss this role further or arrange an informal visit, please contact Sabrina Linstromberg (Therapy Team Lead) or Julie Alderman (Specialist Palliative Care OT) on 01483 881750.
