The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team which provides diabetes services to children, young people, and their families within the hospital and community settings. The post holder will be a key contributor to the ongoing development of diabetes services in line with the Best Practice Tariff, National Service Frameworks, government, and Trust initiatives. The post holder will work in collaboration with medical and other multi-disciplinary staff to provide a comprehensive service focused on children and young people with diabetes and participate in teaching programmes to parents/carers, children, young people, and the direct staff working in nurseries and schools with this group of children. Skills/ Abilities
Able to demonstrate a high standard of credible and effective clinical skills and an ability to teach these to the nursing team Strong leadership skills, able to motivate staff and build effective teams Member of external national forums e.g. RCN children’s forums, diabetes network Previous experience in Paediatric Diabetes Nursing Education/ Qualifications
Willingness to achieve education to degree or MSc level within 3 years Experience/ Knowledge
