The Clinical Engineering Department is primarily concerned with providing repair, calibration, commissioning, and maintenance to a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment in BHR University Hospitals NHS Trust, to ensure medical equipment operates effectively and safely with a minimum of downtime. The Post holder will carry out scheduled preventative maintenance, servicing, repair, calibration, safety, and acceptance testing on a wide range of medical equipment. The Post holder is required to work to high standards of safety and accountability.

Main duties of the job The Post holder will liaise with clinical, administrative, and technical staff to identify faults and repair technical equipment that may require making adaptations. This will include working in clinical areas, communicating and working with equipment manufacturers and equipment suppliers, persuading, negotiating, and motivating to obtain external assistance, price discounts, and reporting back to line management outcomes.

Person Specification Education/ Qualifications Essential HNC/HND or Degree or equivalent in relevant subjects, e.g. Biomedical-Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering or equivalent relevant experience

Desirable Specialist training to Master's equivalent level

Skills/ Abilities Essential Ability to understand and interpret circuit diagrams Excellent communication skills

Desirable Driving license.

Experience/ Knowledge Essential Significant experience post-qualification

Desirable Significant experience in a hospital environment
