Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse - Emergency Department Paediatrics
The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care with the multidisciplinary team and patients' families.
Main duties of the job We are looking to appoint passionate, enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic Band 6 children's Nurses who are ready to take the next step to develop their leadership and management skills. Our department has an integrated Urgent Care Centre and Adult Emergency Department. Barnet ED also has Advanced Care practitioners working alongside the ED medical Team and supporting the Nursing staff. Furthermore, we are a Trauma Unit receiving trauma patients from across Hertfordshire and North London. We are a busy unit receiving up to 90 ambulances per day and over 120,000 patients per year. We pride ourselves on our high quality, safe, and effective care. Training and support for all staff is key to a happy team and safe patient care; this is why we have a clinical practice education team dedicated to the development of our nurses. Qualified RSCN and/or RN with Extensive ED experience
Post Grad AED Course or working towards one
998 or equivalent
Experience
Proven Paediatric Experience in ED
Proven Paediatric ED or paediatric acute ward experience

Ability to prioritise and manage workload
Ability to provide a high standard of holistic family-centred care to children and their families.
Able to act as a mentor to junior staff
