ASAP Key Responsibilities: Assessment and Intervention : Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' occupational needs, develop individual care plans, and provide evidence-based interventions to support recovery. Acute Medicine Focus : Provide occupational therapy services to patients within an acute medical setting, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to address a wide range of medical conditions. Patient-Centered Care : Ensure that therapy interventions are tailored to the specific needs and goals of each patient, promoting independence and improving overall quality of life. Rehabilitation and Recovery : Support patients in their rehabilitation process by designing and implementing therapeutic activities to aid recovery and prevent long-term disability. Discharge Planning : Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan and facilitate smooth patient discharges, ensuring appropriate follow-up care and support. Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with NHS guidelines and contribute to team meetings and audits. Key Requirements: Qualified Occupational Therapist : You must hold a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Experience in Acute Medicine : Previous experience working in an acute medical setting is highly desirable, with a solid understanding of medical conditions and treatment protocols. Strong Assessment and Treatment Skills : A good level of competency in carrying out assessments, identifying goals, and implementing evidence-based interventions. Team Player : Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers. Excellent Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with patients, families, and colleagues. Adaptability and Flexibility : Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage a varied caseload.
