Applications are invited from suitably-experienced Mental Health Nurses to join the Older Adult Community Mental Health team on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands. The Older Adult Community Team comprises a MDT of Band 6 CPNs, OT and Social Workers. As the Band 6 CPN you will manage a caseload of between 15-25 service-users supported by senior Support Workers. The Service is Consultant-led, focusing on admissions prevention for over 65s and GP and Memory Clinic dementia referrals of all ages and is supported by four in-patient centres and Day Services. Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale. The current Band 6 salary range is £46,152 to £62,310 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 and higher penalty rates; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH. Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave. The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000. It has some of Britain's finest and best-kept beaches, an especially mild and sunny climate, and an offbeat, historic harbour town in St. Peter's Port, the island's capital. The States of Guernsey delivers a diverse range of healthcare services within the hospital, and supporting people in the wider community. They have recently launched their Island-wide Dementia Framework; striving to make the island Dementia Friendly so that their older population feel valued and are treated with the dignity and respect that they so rightly deserve. All of this is reliant on the excellent calibre of Nurses recruited to a very high standard. Person requirements: Registered Mental Health Nurse with full NMC Registration. Two years current Band 5 Community Older Adult Mental Health, including Dementia-specific experience. Mental Health Nurses from an Inpatient background are welcome to apply, dependant on specific experience. Completion of Mentorship qualification.
