The successful post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team delivering primary healthcare nursing including elements of occupational health. You will work with the Senior Practice Nurse or Senior Medical Officer within the medical facility (MF) and will be a focal point for Primary Healthcare nursing issues within area of practice. Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to: The successful post holder will provide specialist high-quality person-centred care which always considers peoples safety, privacy and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence based. You will hold an individual case load, and through consultation identify, assess and diagnose patients with complex health needs, minor injuries, minor illnesses and specific diseases within their level of competence. You will be responsible for the delivery of appropriate treatment, screening and advice to patients within your professional competence and in accordance with Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) clinical guidelines and protocols. You will provide expert clinical advice, leadership and support ensuring the needs of the service are met by exercising and demonstrating high levels of clinical judgement, critical analysis, and decision-making skills. The postholder will act as a role model, delivering high quality practice and promoting clinical effectiveness in care. You will monitor and improve standards through supervision, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research, and education. You will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and will play an integral role in the operational/strategic development of the service working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Line management, training and clinical supervision responsibilities for junior practice nurses, Healthcare Assistants (HCA) and other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) will form part of your role. You will work within the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and adhere to all NMC standards and Ministry of Defence (MOD) /Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) policies and guidelines. Degree or equivalent training as recognised by professional body (NMC/HCPC etc) in relevant area plus additional specialist qualification. Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessors training. Experience
Experience working within Primary Healthcare. Registrations and Memberships
Registered nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register. Current registration with the NMC. Please provide your membership registration number. You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
