Band 6 School Nurse

School Nurse responsibilities: Providing primary healthcare services to students, including first aid, assessments, and treatments for illnesses and injuries Administering prescribed medications and maintaining accurate records Educating parents on breastfeeding, bottle feeding, childcare, parenting, immunisation, weaning, and child development Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop individual healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions Conducting health screenings, immunization programs, and health education sessions for students Promoting healthy lifestyles, including physical activity and nutrition, to prevent health issues such as obesity Collaborating with school nurses, social workers, and other professionals Assessing and managing contagious diseases within the school community Responding to emergencies and providing immediate medical care Qualifications and Skills: Registered nurse with a valid license Experience in paediatric or community health nursing is preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate and empathetic nature Knowledge of child development, common health issues in school-aged children, and relevant healthcare Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
