We are excited to announce the launch of our new Leicestershire and Rutland Sexual Health Service and are looking for a Band 6 Senior Sexual Health Nurse to join our team starting April 1, 2025.
Based at our Loughborough Health Centre, with service locations across Rutland, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, and Coalville, this full-time role offers a unique opportunity to provide free, confidential sexual health services to the local community.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will lead nurse-led clinics, support junior colleagues, and ensure the smooth running of clinics across sites. With dual training in STIF Intermediate and FRSH qualifications, you will work autonomously to deliver high-quality care while contributing to service development and improvement.
We welcome applications from Band 6 Nurses or Band 5 Nurses ready for promotion, with at least two years’ experience and recognised sexual health qualifications. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week), and applicants must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel to spoke clinics across the counties.

Main Responsibilities:
Manage and triage patients for sexual health, contraception, and HIV care.
Provide STI/HIV screening, treatment, and partner management.
Insert and remove contraceptive implants and intrauterine devices after appropriate training.
Promote sexual health through education and positive health messaging.
Work autonomously to manage a caseload.
Offer specialised advice, develop care plans, and support colleagues.
Maintain accurate records and uphold clinical governance.
Participate in audits, research, and service development initiatives.
Commit to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
The Ideal Candidate:
Registered Nurse with NMC registration.
Minimum 2 years’ Nursing experience at Band 6, or experienced Band 5 in a sexual health setting.
Experience working within Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Teaching and mentorship experience.
FSRH Faculty Diploma in Contraception & STIF Foundation.
Letters of Competency for Subdermal Implants.
Symptomatic screening (STIF Foundation).
Ability to apply research evidence to clinical practice.
Understanding of factors influencing intervention models and patient participation.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
