Create an environment where clients are able to be at the centre of their own care and decision making processes sensitive to the needs of the older person. Respect the dignity, wishes and beliefs of the service users, involving them in shared decision making and obtaining their consent to treatment/referrals. Act to safeguard the patient taking emergency action where necessary, reporting any potential or actual risks to the patient immediately and following the safeguarding policy. Take responsibility for ensuring risks to safeguarding are reported in a timely manner within the team. Provide leadership, mentoring and support for junior health and social care employees and to implement, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the therapy competency framework.
