Band 7 Hepatology Clinical Nurse Specialist

In this role, you will provide specialist nursing care to patients across the liver specialty. If this is your first role as a Hepatology CNS, you will undergo a period of training. You will work alongside experienced practitioners to gain experience in the viral hepatology clinics, and as your competence and confidence grow, you will move into a more varied position. An experienced practitioner will have the opportunity to work with the existing CNS team who carry out a varied role. We work in both hospital and community settings to offer nurse-led clinics in areas such as stable cirrhosis, viral hepatitis, AILD, NAFLD, and specialty clinics treating hard-to-reach patients with hepatitis C or HBV, as well as those with rarer liver diseases. Additionally, we have a clinic for newly discharged decompensated patients and nurse-led paracentesis. You will need to be passionate about liver disease and have experience in hepatology nursing. Good communication skills are essential as you will engage key stakeholders and support the nursing team to deliver specialist hepatology nursing across secondary and primary care.
