01/01/2025 23:59 We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Band 7 MRI Radiographers to join the Radiology team at the Royal Free Hospital. This post would be well suited for an MRI radiographer with accredited post graduate training in MRI and those who are working in MRI as senior radiographers. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and a team and patient-centered approach to their work. They should enjoy working collaboratively and aspire to always provide the best possible care for our patients, whilst teaching and sharing their knowledge with others. Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be working with Band 6 and 7 MRI specialist Radiographers, MRI Trained Rotational radiographers, and Radiographic Assistants to deliver an extended hours 7-day service in the MRI Department at the Royal Free. They will use specialized knowledge and expertise to produce high quality images to assist in diagnosis and treatment, while demonstrating high standards of care. The post-holder will ensure patient flow in the Trust by actively managing the flow of emergency and inpatient workload through MRI. They will be expected to carry out protocolling of MRI requests, checking of conditional devices and aid in the booking of complex cases. Person specification
Education & professional Qualifications
DCR (R) or BSc Diagnostic Radiography HCPC registration Post Graduate Certificate in MRI IV Cannulation Certificate Skills and aptitudes
Ability to work independently and also within a team Ability to prioritize and organize demands and multi-task Willing to take direction and learn from more experienced colleagues Demonstrate a sound understanding of MRI Safety Principles for patients and staff Demonstrate a sound understanding of cross sectional anatomy IV Cannulation experience and administration of Contrast Experience
NHS experience Knowledge and experience with NHS Targets and Care pathways Experience in specialised imaging techniques such as CT, Interventional Radiology/Cardiology, MRI Experience using PACS and RIS and an understanding of its significance for good service management and patient care Experience dealing with a diverse range of patient presentations Experience of performing Quality Assurance tests and management of a robust QA program Royal Free World Class Values
