The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that Queens Hospital receives a high quality, patient focused Soft FM provision that delivers an excellent patient, visitor, and staff experience. In addition, the post-holder will ensure that value for money is achieved whether the service is delivered through a directly employed workforce or contractual arrangements with a third-party provider.

The post holder is expected to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with other staff members characterised by trust, mutual respect, and open, honest communication. The post-holder will support the Associate Director of Estates and Facilities and the Estates and Facilities Leadership team in the development and delivery of a Group wide facilities strategy.

Person specification Education/ Qualifications

Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at Management level within Facilities Management.

Membership of BIFM or similar.

Skills/ Abilities

Must be able to work under pressure and respond well in crisis management situations.

Use of various forms of media to support communications and presentation skills within the hospital setting.

Experience/ Knowledge

Demonstrable management experience of soft facilities and contract management in an NHS or public sector environment at management level.

Experience of managing a tendering process.
