An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced pharmacist to take up the role of principal pharmacist haematology/oncology at Queens Hospital Romford. This position provides the opportunity for you to develop your leadership skills while providing specialist cancer pharmacy knowledge in an environment that is dynamic and actively promotes innovation and improvement in providing safe and effective care to our patients. As a senior pharmacist in haematology/oncology pharmacy services, you will be working closely with senior technicians to deliver a seamless service to inpatient, outpatient, and day case unit to cancer patients and provide clinical leadership to this area as a cancer specialist. You will be actively involved in promoting the safe and effective use of cancer drugs as well as developing the clinical cancer pharmacy services. Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing and developing comprehensive, patient-oriented pharmacy services at ward and outpatient level throughout Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. He/she will work closely with the Lead Pharmacist for Cancer Services, and other senior colleagues and clinical technicians to ensure the provision of an integrated and efficient service. The post holder will act as a Senior clinical pharmacist for Cancer and Patient Services within the Trust, with a particular focus on advancing the care provided to patients with cancer. The post holder will be based within the pharmacy department and will assist in the development of policies, guidelines and protocols under the direction of the Cancer Lead Pharmacist. Our ideal candidate would be a self-motivated pharmacist with good team working and organisational skills. You must have hospital pharmacy experience, preferably some of this working in a UK hospital and must have completed the Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice. You must also be able to work with senior medical and nursing staff and other healthcare professionals and manage a busy workload. MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Pharmacist Formal management training/qualification Skills/Abilities
Demonstrates advanced level of clinical reasoning and judgement and able to manage difficult and ambiguous problems Experience/Knowledge
Experience of working in Oncology/Haematology Pharmacy Services Change management experience and direct involvement of redesign within a service, including promoting evidence based practice Disclosure and Barring Service Check
