We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Risley, a

category C

men's Prison located in the Risley area of Warrington, Cheshire. It has an operational capacity of 1095 people. HMP Risley is a 20 minute drive from Warrington and 30 minutes by car from Wigan.

Salary

You'll receive an hourly rate of £22.19 per hour - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing As a Bank Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model. Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users. Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers. Work with individuals on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information. Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions.

Qualifications required

Registered nurse with current NMC registration. Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD). RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake. Experience of working with opiate dependent patients. Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge. A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
