An exciting opportunity to join the General Medical team at Dorset County Hospital, working alongside the Foundation doctors and experienced Trust Grade Central Doctors. The role will provide the candidate access to weekly in-house training, as well as gaining valuable experience working a variety of on-call shifts. Main duties of the job

The Candidate will be working a full shift work pattern and out of hours shift work is shared equally between other F1 team members. The Foundation Year 1 team has an equal share of out of hours/on-call shifts, supporting the take and wards out of hours. These shifts are supervised by the central doctors and registrars on call. Working for our organisation

Initially, the post holder will join the Stroke and Care of the Elderly teams. Both of these teams are well supported by consultant and senior registrar teams. Consultant Supervisors:

The post holder will work under the immediate supervision of the F2, ST1 or ST2 with regular ward rounds by the Registrar and/or Consultants. There will be the opportunity to attend F1 teaching on Thursday afternoons, based in the Education Centre. There are opportunities for audits and research, as well as teaching medical students. Education, Qualifications and Training

Medical Degree (MBBS, MChB or equivalent) Full GMC registration and a licence to practise is required Experience & Knowledge

Ideally some experience in an area being recruited to Evidence of good oral and written communication skills Experience of multidisciplinary working At least 2 years clinical experience in general medicine Evidence of working independently Current Skills & Abilities

Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual, multi-professional and team basis with all levels of staff Understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies Audit & Research

Knowledge of medical and clinical audit principles and evidence of direct involvement in 2 specific medical audits in the last 18 months Knowledge of principles of scientific research
