Description

We are seeking a dedicated Beach Service operational team member to join our team. Under the direction of the Beach Services Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of Torbay’s beaches and promenades. This includes overseeing all activities taking place on the beaches and promenades. You will serve as the first point of contact for all beach users and tenants. Identify and report emergency maintenance needs promptly and be able to undertake any general maintenance tasks. Skills

Essential: Ability to demonstrate a high level of customer care using effective communication skills. Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to working hours – candidate will be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays and possible extended summer working hours. Ability to work effectively on own initiative without close supervision to achieve successful completion of duties. Able to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to deal with conflict situations with tact and diplomacy when required. As this post meets the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016 (part 7), the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Knowledge

Essential: A good knowledge of DIY and general maintenance. Experience of carpentry and use of handheld power tools.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential: Experience of working within a team. Experience of cash handling. Experience of working with the general public. Current full driving licence.
