Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? An Alternative Provision in Chesterfield is seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join their team. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with a background in SEN or those experienced in supporting students with SEMH needs.

This small but dynamic school provides tailored support for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 students facing challenges related to behavioural and emotional difficulties. With a strong focus on sport and physical education, candidates with a sporting background or experience in youth mentoring will be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting students' academic, social, and emotional progression in a safe, nurturing environment. Acting as a role model to inspire and motivate students. Providing tailored mentoring and guidance to encourage positive behaviour. Managing and responding to challenging or disruptive behaviour effectively. Building positive relationships with students, staff, and families to promote engagement. Candidate Requirements

Prior experience working with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. A passion for supporting young people within education. A proactive and flexible approach to meet the diverse needs of students. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents. Up-to-date safeguarding training and knowledge of current child protection policies. Why Join This Role?
