Behaviour Mentor Do you have strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills and a desire to help young people who are not able to be in a mainstream environment? Croydon/South Norwood Well resourced lessons Small school with very small class sizes Supportive school community Robust and highly effective whole school behaviour management policies in place The Behaviour Mentor Job An Alternative Provision Centre in Croydon/South Norwood is looking for a Behaviour Mentor to start as soon as possible. This is a long term, full time position and will run for the remainder of the academic year. You will be working with young people across KS3 and KS4. The Behaviour Mentor Skills This Alternative Provision or PRU school is looking for a passionate and experienced Behaviour Mentor who has a good understanding of young people's needs. You will be working in the secondary team supporting pupils on a 1:1 or classroom basis with their motivation and learning. You will have the opportunity to assist these students in activities that will further their independence and help them reintegrate back into mainstream school. The School This Croydon/South Norwood based Alternative Provision school has recently joined a new academy in the last year. This school specializes in dealing with young people who cannot be in mainstream school for various reasons. This school aims to equip students for reintegration, further education and employment with a curriculum that gives them a chance to succeed beyond their schooling years and into adulthood. Good transport links. Support from a multi-professional team and team of experts who focus on the whole well-being of the young person. The Ideal Behaviour Mentor Applicant: Strong behaviour management. Experience being a Behaviour Mentor is desirable but not essential. A passion for teaching students who struggle with mainstream school. Experience teaching within an alternative provisions environment or a secondary school environment. A patient, calm and engaging classroom manner. Strong communication skills. Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application.
