The role of a behaviour mentor is to provide support and sustained change to students who need help to overcome their barriers to learning and attendance. It is important that you understand the school’s ethos and values and model this to the children in all aspects of school life, being a good role model. You will set high expectations for behaviour and expect the children to make considerable progress. You will create and implement strategies to promote positive outcomes, provide ongoing support, and develop a 1:1 mentoring relationship with the children to help them meet their behaviour targets.
