LTF Recruitment are currently working in collaboration with a mainstream secondary setting to appoint a Behaviour Mentor. The job holder will work within the pastoral team to provide support for young people who are presenting challenging behaviour or who are finding it difficult to access mainstream lessons. This position is maternity cover, with the potential to continue in the setting after this.

Role Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate attendance records and address absences promptly. Plan engaging sessions to re-engage disengaged students. Implement individualised interventions for students. Prepare and develop resources for coaching and learning support. Actively contribute to the department's success. Keep detailed records to support student progress. Guide assigned students through structured activities and tutorials. Collaborate with pastoral teams to maintain communication with families. Create and implement personalised student action plans. Use diverse strategies to boost academic growth, confidence, and self-esteem. Enforce child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection policies. Tackle unexpected challenges efficiently, seeking help when needed. Set clear behaviour management expectations from the outset. Accept feedback constructively and share strategies with colleagues. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.

Requirements: Previous experience of working with young people. Ability to work with students with additional support needs and challenging behaviours. The ability to collaborate within a team to work towards positive student outcomes.
