SEN Behaviour Support Worker – Huddersfield (Supply) Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and resilient Behaviour Support Worker for a supply role supporting SEN provisions in Huddersfield. Our client schools cater to pupils aged 11–16 with a variety of needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other complex diagnoses. Many students have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and require a tailored, nurturing approach to learning. As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work across multiple settings, supporting young people with diverse SEN needs. You’ll help create a safe, supportive environment and deliver interventions that empower students to overcome barriers to learning and re-engage with their education. Key Responsibilities: Implement behaviour support strategies for students with SEMH and other additional needs, in line with individual support plans. Deliver bespoke interventions for individuals and small groups, including self-esteem building, anger management, and emotional regulation strategies. Support students to improve attendance, punctuality, and engagement following periods of absence or disengagement. Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching staff, and senior leaders to support student progress. Adapt and maintain a calm and structured learning environment while promoting positive behaviour and mutual respect. About You: We are looking for individuals with experience working with young people in an SEN, Youth Work, or Social Care setting. You should be confident in managing challenging behaviour and passionate about helping young people achieve their potential. Essential Requirements: Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural challenges. Confidence in managing behaviour and delivering tailored interventions. Team Teach training (or a willingness to undertake this training). Flexibility to work across different schools in Huddersfield. If you’re interested in this rewarding role and want to make a real difference to young people’s lives, please contact the West Yorkshire SEN branch today. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
