Join a busy and highly skilled business development team within a fast-growing boutique research consultancy where you will be producing proposals for international development projects across fragile states and hard-to-reach regions. You will work with an experienced head of the team, learning on the job and have the ambition, skillset, and flair to become an independent and experienced bid writer over time. Our client works with an impressive portfolio of INGOs across developing markets and responds to bid requests in French and English-speaking countries; therefore, fully fluent written and spoken English and French is essential. We also seek knowledge and experience in social and ideally international development research and some exposure to bid writing. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount, and the role involves bringing together varied sources to create compelling proposals. As a startup consultancy, it is also key that you share their ambition to grow through delivering excellent work and have the personality to work in a fast-paced consultancy. First-class communication skills, teamwork, analytical skills, and a can-do attitude will be essential to succeed in this role. Future opportunities within the business include client presentations, travel, and growth in the role. This is a London-based job, but with good flexibility to work from home. Day to day, you will be drafting non-technical sections of proposals for submission to clients, tailoring and managing supporting proposal documentation, acting as a key point of contact for client enquiries, liaising with the wider teams, drafting external communications materials, submitting proposals, and managing and coordinating team admin. Person Specification Fluency in French and English (mandatory) Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (mandatory) Ability to cope well under pressure Exposure to public sector bid writing, ideally gained from within social research or international development Master's degree in International Relations, International Development, or a related discipline desirable
