Join our innovative team as a Bid Manager and play a crucial role in shaping the energy landscape. Reporting to the Tendering Manager, the Bid Manager will create and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specifications or requirements in order to achieve both market competitiveness and margin for the Company. Integral to the role will be the ability to develop specification/design solutions with the client. How you’ll make an impact Key Undertakings Support Business Development and Sales in developing client designs and specifications; create budget proposals based on own designs. Evaluate client enquiries, formulate competitive bids/estimates, and manage all technical, financial, and operational aspects of bids. Identify risks and opportunities in contracts, evaluate supplier offers, and maintain effective customer relationships. Work across various business streams, cultures, and countries, building relationships within the organization. Manage and drive the Bid Team to deliver quality proposals on time and within budget. Develop and identify client requirements, liaising closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Project Management, Planning, Engineering, and Commercial functions. Assist in implementing and promoting Hitachi’s sales and tendering policies and procedures. Develop and obtain governance approval (risk review) in line with Hitachi policy. Travel within the UK and overseas as required by business needs. Customer Interface with clients on technical requirements, commercial terms, and contract administration. Provide ongoing support by chairing meetings, responding to pre- and post-tender questions, preparing presentations, and negotiating contracts. Your background: 5-10 years Bid/Tendering Management experience, Project Engineering, Business Development sales, and in Tendering experience. Recognized engineering qualification minimum HNC. HV (400kV–132kV) and MV (66kV-11kV) knowledge and Industrial, Datacentre, Renewables, Power Quality and substation design experience. Sound communication, presentation and negotiation skills. Ability to prioritize and work to deadlines. Ability to work under pressure and work on your own initiative. Good PC skills including but not limited to, MS Teams, Office365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. 5 years’ experience within Transmission & Distribution sector. Experience of Contract terms and conditions, NEC3/4, FIDIC, etc. Full UK Driving License.
