As the key point of contact for Sales and the customer, the Sales Engineer works directly with the customer to identify and understand their needs in order to develop/configure a product offering to match this need within the customer’s overall timeline. Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability Manage communication between the customer/Sales and the business (Pre-order activity). Facilitate pre-sale application reviews, product inquiries, and supply quotations. Work directly with customers to secure necessary project information, ensuring that orders are technically accurate, priced appropriately, and properly documented to meet the customer’s and Husky’s expectations. Work internally to ensure reference pricing is correct for non-standard products. Establish the overall lead time. Develop the EVP (Economical Value Proposition) for the desired configuration. Prepare and deliver necessary supporting documentation (i.e., presentations, customer visits). Periodically host customer visits to help sales deliver the Husky Value and explain our products. Prepare all technical information for handoff to the Project Management team. Follow up on open issues in a timely manner and promptly escalate any concerns when necessary. Requirements College or University degree in Engineering preferred. Minimum 2 to 3 years of sales support/project management/engineering/product development in an industrial manufacturing environment encompassing one or more of plastics processing, machine design, tooling, or automation. Minimum 2 to 3 years of Sales/direct customer support experience. Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills. Strong communication and presentation skills. Strong knowledge and application of plastic injection molding technology (including application, design, manufacturing, and serviceability) or assembly/design. Demonstrated leadership skills. Able to lead and provide guidance to other Husky team members. Strong technical and commercial aptitude. Ability to read and understand contracts. Capacity to follow guidelines, think methodically/analytically, exercise judgment in decision making, and suggest improvements. Additional language: Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.
