Brand new - Bioanalyst job opportunity for a growing animal feed manufacturer based in the East Yorkshire area.

Job role:

This is a brand-new role within the company, which will initially be to set up the biochemistry laboratory in conjunction with the laboratory manager; implement SOPs; calibrate equipment and ensure compliance to ISO standards. The ultimate aim of the role will be to provide speciation testing for both internal and external customers, to ensure regulatory compliance to the animal feed industry.

You Will Be Involved In Setting up and calibrating the RT-PCR machinery including validation of methods. Writing SOPs and implementing systems to ensure smooth running of the biochemistry lab. Writing reports to customers and providing certificates of analysis. Where required carry out microbiology (Aseptic techniques, plate streaking, colony counting and identification, autoclaving) and mycotoxin testing. Helping with regulatory compliance and maintaining quality standards. Researching new methods and processes to improve efficiencies.

What do you need to be considered? You Will Need A degree in biochemistry, biology or related science-based subject. Strong background in RT-PCR including method validation from a regulated laboratory. Knowledge of one or more of the following: ISO 17025, GMP, GLP, UKAS would be advantageous. Experience of microbiological testing (Aseptic techniques, plate streaking, colony counting and identification, autoclaving) would be a distinct advantage. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
