Anglian Water is seeking a dedicated and experienced person to be our Biodiversity Manager and lead our efforts in maintaining and enhancing biodiversity across our region. This post is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. As our Biodiversity Manager, you will play a crucial role in implementing biodiversity land management on Anglian Water-owned land. You will oversee the delivery of biodiversity projects, ensure compliance with natural environment legislation, and manage a team of biodiversity staff. In this role, you will also oversee our Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) commitments. Working with others, you will help us deliver BNG and our busiest ever capital programme, whilst following best practice approaches. Ensuring business compliance with biodiversity legislation and good practice. Delivering Biodiversity Net Gain. Managing invasive species risks. Engaging with employees, partners, and external organisations to promote our biodiversity work. Undertaking and procuring biodiversity surveys. Working with the wider Environmental Strategy and Delivery team to identify opportunities to work collaboratively with others on biodiversity projects consistent with AW’s wider priorities and Purpose, especially Get River Positive, Nature-based solutions and Net Zero Carbon. What does it take to be successful? Proven experience in biodiversity management and Biodiversity Net Gain. A strong understanding of relevant legislation and policy. Great communication and leadership skills. Demonstrable effective influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to adapt, challenge and change in changing environments and high-pressure situations.
