About the Role Our team at the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, is seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics research assistant with a BSc or MSc degree and interest in bioinformatics or computational biology. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of software infrastructure to support the analysis of liquid biopsy next-generation sequencing data for cancer diagnostics.

The ideal candidate will have a background in next-generation sequencing data analysis/cancer and/or genome research, or closely related fields. Desired criteria include knowledge of the application of statistical methods for robust data analysis of biological/genomic data. You will be able to work independently and interact well in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days' leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme, and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. Join us in pioneering new approaches for non-invasive molecular diagnostics and analysis of cancer genomes and evolution using next-generation sequencing of circulating cell-free tumour DNA (ctDNA). We aim to develop novel tools for cancer diagnostics by developing improved methods and demonstrating clinical utility.
