The successful candidate must be committed to maintaining pathology services at Epsom & St Helier. You must be HCPC registered, competent working within your professional boundaries, while maintaining your development and career. The department actively encourages further education and CPD activities. You will be an excellent team player and be able to work in a multicultural environment. Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
An honours degree or equivalent in a biological science
HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
Hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
Proven experience post HCPC registration in the relevant discipline
Excellent working knowledge of specialist subject in relevant discipline
Evidence of continuing professional development
Knowledge of health and safety issues
Experience of quality management systems
Desirable criteria
Experience using Abbott Architect / Alinity platforms
Experience using LC-MS/MS
Experience using Sysmex Analysers
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
Practical specialist analytical skills associated with diagnostic laboratory work
Competence in PC word processing, spreadsheet and database software
Accuracy and attention to detail
Able to follow written methodologies or protocols
Able to work as part of a team
Able to work under pressure
Ability to plan and prioritise allocated work
Intermediate level of computer skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Use of enhanced pathology computer systems

Good hand eye co-ordination
