BMS Design Engineer

As a design engineer, you will work specifically in the design stage of BMS. You will be involved in the manufacture and installation of the systems you create.

Responsibilities Reviewing all project documentation, scrutinising mechanical, electrical, BMS, and all other relevant specifications, reviewing other trades' technical submissions to identify areas of non-compliance and scope gaps. Learning the features, functionality, and benefits of proposed control systems. Designing BMS with energy efficiency in mind. Working with other project engineers and managers to create equipment schedules, document schedules, interface schedules, commissioning sheets, method statements, crib sheets, outline target programmes, functional descriptions, points lists, and network topologies. Attending factory acceptance tests for control panels. Coordinating with software engineers and arranging internal and external software and graphics acceptance tests to ensure adherence to functional design. Liaising with design manager, project engineers, project managers, design engineers, software engineers, commissioning engineers, and electricians to ensure a good understanding of the design and implementation of the project at all stages, and that good working practices are adhered to, such as organising and storing commissioning and as-built information. Dealing positively with customer complaints, quickly resolving these in the most cost-effective way whilst also ensuring that high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained. Ensuring expectations have been met and the customer is fully satisfied with the work. Refreshing knowledge and skill set by attending technical and procedural updates, adopting and applying new skills and working practices to enhance safety, customer satisfaction, and efficiency.

Requirements At least 2 years' experience working in BMS design engineering. Control engineering experience. HNC/HND, BEng, or MEng in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or relevant experience.
