BMS Technical & Design Manager Location: London, United Kingdom Employment Type: Full-time Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 per annum + benefits Job Summary My client is seeking an experienced Technical & Design Manager to lead the technical design, implementation, and integration of Building Management Systems (BMS). This role requires expertise in system design, project execution, and team management to ensure that BMS solutions are efficient, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC controls, automation, SCADA, IoT, and energy management systems. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Design Develop and oversee technical designs, system architectures, and specifications for BMS projects. Provide expertise in HVAC controls, SCADA, PLC, IoT integration, and BACnet/LonWorks/Modbus protocols. Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ASHRAE, CIBSE, and ISO 50001. Evaluate new technologies and innovations in BMS and automation for integration into projects. Work closely with the software, hardware, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless execution. Project Management & Execution Lead the technical execution of BMS projects from inception to completion. Manage the design documentation, control schematics, panel layouts, and system drawings. Oversee engineering calculations, equipment selection, and integration with third-party systems. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards. Conduct technical risk assessments and troubleshoot issues during project implementation. Team Leadership & Coordination Manage a team of design engineers, system integrators, and technical specialists. Conduct training and mentorship programs to develop technical expertise within the team. Collaborate with sales, procurement, and commissioning teams to align project deliverables. Client & Stakeholder Engagement Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to define project requirements and technical solutions. Provide technical presentations and demonstrations to stakeholders. Ensure that design solutions meet client expectations and regulatory compliance. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in BMS design, controls, automation, and project management. Strong experience with HVAC systems, SCADA, PLC, DDC controllers, IoT, and cloud-based solutions. Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, Revit, and BMS programming languages. Experience working with Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Siemens, or similar BMS platforms. Skills & Competencies Expertise in BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and other communication protocols. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and IoT integration in BMS. Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and software programming (C++, Python, SQL, Niagara Framework, Tridium, etc.). Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment. Why Join My Client?
