BMW Group Plant Hams Hall is a modern, state-of-the-art engine manufacturing facility, located just outside Birmingham, UK. Producing the latest generation of three and four cylinder petrol engines, and precision machining key engine components, the plant has recently celebrated 20 years of successful production. Operating seven days a week, with more than one engine rolling off the line per minute, the plant plays a key role in the BMW Group’s global production network, supplying engines for BMW and MINI, including some of the latest plug-in hybrid vehicles. BMW Hams Hall, Birmingham – IT/Digital Specialist (July 2025) Our Property Management department at Plant Hams Hall manages the Operational and Preventative Maintenance Strategy to all Assets, Equipment, Systems and Building Structures within the Facility Management (FM) scope of work. Working with service providers we are responsible for providing a reactive maintenance and modification service including the management of resources considered within the overall Sustainability framework of the BMW Group. What awaits you? Support the digital transformation of the department according to the IT landscape considering the requirements of the data architecture and digital maturity assessment for departmental processes. Support the continued role out of data analytic systems within the department and develop system processes to allow ease of use. Support the implementation of IT applications (SAP, Data Management, Energy Management, Building Information Modelling, Building Management Systems, Digital Twin....) Enablement of the department and services by bringing data transparency to use data in daily business including the digitalisation overview of all application KPI's. Bespoke reporting using our data analytic systems. Qualifications and Experience Studying towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Digital Media and IT or other relevant field and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above. An understanding and interest in business processes and the IT systems used to manage data. Excellent communication skills. High intrinsic motivation and creativity. Good project management skills and entrepreneurial thinking. Programming language skills in one or more of the following (e.g. Python, Java, C#, C++, R, HTML). Experience with data visualisation tools, preferably PowerBI. Strong relationship with data handling and ability to understand its integration with a process Understanding of Oracle / SQL databases.
