Job Purpose: We have a position available for a trainer/assessor in bricklaying up to and including Level 3. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering innovative programmes of learning, and supporting learners to develop their knowledge and practical skills so that they can demonstrate industry-standard competence. Responsibilities: Planning for programme delivery and producing schemes of work and lesson plans Delivering knowledge and practical skills sessions to learners in classroom and specialist training environments, using a variety of methods and resources Evaluating the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities to develop and improve the learner experience Negotiating, agreeing and carrying out assessments using different assessment methods and evidence types with groups and individuals Liaising with others involved in the assessment process Making sound, objective assessment decisions based on assessment requirements Providing constructive feedback to learners that supports individual development Identifying and dealing with any barriers to fair assessment and supporting these with special assessment requirements Dealing with any appeals against assessment decisions in line with organisational and regulatory authority procedures Reviewing and updating individual learning plans, and recording progress in line with agreed targets Completing and maintaining safe, secure and accurate records using e-based systems Implementing internal and external quality assurance action plans, including the standardisation of practice with other assessors Working with others to support continuous improvement Engaging in ongoing professional development in terms of occupational competence and educational competence Person Specification: Industry-specific and relevant qualifications and experience, including a supervisory background, are essential Experience in the Bricklaying trade Good literacy and numeracy skills, and excellent communication skills Up-to-date industry skills and evidence of continuous professional development Willingness to take responsibility and make objective decisions Organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time well You must be willing to travel, have your own car and possess a full, valid driving licence Willingness to work outside of regular hours to support the needs of the business.
