29/04/2012 The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs. We now require a Physical Oceanographer to undertake data analysis to investigate dynamical processes in the polar oceans, with a particular focus on the Arctic Ocean. This position will contribute to the NERC TEA-COSI (The Environment of the Arctic: Climate, Ocean and Sea Ice) project. The postholder will also be expected to assist with polar ocean fieldwork relevant to the Open Oceans programme. Qualifications:

Good first degree in physical science/mathematics plus PhD or equivalent postgraduate experience.
