Responsibilities of the Principal Designer
Provide comprehensive Principal Designer services, including compiling pre-construction information, managing design risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with BSA and CDM regulations. Collaborate closely with design teams, clients, and contractors to develop and implement effective safety and risk management strategies. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards and regulations. Lead workshops and training sessions for design teams on best practices in risk management and safety. Review and approve construction phase plans, ensuring all necessary safety measures are in place and adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
The Principal Designer
Degree qualified in Architecture, Construction, or Engineering. NEBOSH Construction Certificate. Membership with IOSH or APS. Extensive experience in delivering Principal Designer services within a consultancy or architectural practice. Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act and CDM regulations. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders.
