As a BTL underwriting manager, you will support the risk function in defining risk policies, procedures and strategies as well as developing and managing the underwriting team to capitalise on loan opportunities whilst maintaining credit disciplines and minimising credit losses. Responsibilities for the role of BTL Underwriting Manager: Design, manage, embed and deliver the credit risk management framework and procedures to ensure best practices in underwriting. Deputise for the Lending operations Director when required. Manage and develop the underwriting team. Ensure SLAs are maintained and exceeded. Develop and promote clear standards of performance within underwriting which support the company training and competency policy. Implement training and ensure adequate records of staff training and competence are maintained. System owner of BTL origination platform which includes helping develop effective systems and processes providing specifications and UAT. Mandated to approve high-value loans. Implement effective underwriting controls across all processes and procedures to minimise the risk of error. Experience and skills required for BTL Underwriting Manager: Extensive experience leading, developing and managing a team of underwriters. Superb people and communication skills. Takes ownership and responsibility and is results-orientated. Experience gained with a Buy to let Lender, ideally a specialist lender. Experienced being a mandated underwriter.
