The Rolls-Royce Submarines Infrastructure business unit specifically the Building Information Modelling Team are accountable for ensuring that the Building Information Modelling Process is successfully implemented on all future construction projects on the Raynesway estate inline with the BS EN ISO 19650 Standards and the UK BIM Framework. Whilst also managing the entire library of operational lifecycle asset information for the Raynesway estate including 2D CAD drawings, 3D BIM models, laser scan data, O&M manuals, asset registers, COBIE data and much more.

To deliver our BIM accountability we require an experienced Building Information Modelling Lead to join our team and act as the collaborator between our client teams, design teams, contractor teams and supply chain. The Infrastructure function at Rolls-Royce Submarines invites you to bring your experience in leading the BIM element of multi-disciplinary projects into play as you provide BIM Lead services for internal client teams on a wide range of upcoming specialist and unique construction projects alongside the ongoing development of our estate digital twin, Infrastructure digital strategy, and future digital transformation projects.

What you’ll be doing

You will be acting as the client-side intermediary between designers, supply chain partners and architects so that BIM projects remain efficient and effective. Lead a team of BIM coordinators to ensure information exchange processes are followed and adhered to. Own and manage our cloud based CDE and AIM. Liaise with internal project teams to ascertain and define project BIM and Digital Information requirements. Develop and maintain BIM protocols, BIM Execution Plans, and Information Requirements documentation. Produce and manage project BIM documentation including; BIM Execution Plans, Master Information Delivery Plans, Model Production Delivery Tables, and Task Information Delivery Plans. Ensure that project teams deliver an appropriate and usable Asset Information Model at the end of the project and you support the management and implementation of Common Data Environments. Support the business in obtaining ISO 19650 accreditation. Who we are looking for

Substantial knowledge of the UK BIM framework/ BS EN ISO 19650. Experience in data delivery for assets using BIM Information exchange protocols (COBie). Experience in setting up Common Data Environments (CDEs) and workflows. Design & construction experience and knowledgeable in BIM, preferably integration of it into a business or projects. Experience with the 3D and 4D modelling execution and its process implementation. Awareness of digital asset data, 5D, 6D modelling and Digital technologies in general. Preferably have project or design coordination experience. Experience in obtaining ISO 19650 accreditation. Competent user with a good understanding of the following platforms: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Recap, Solibri, Glider BIM. A passion for all things digital construction and digital transformation. To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
