Westminster City Council is seeking an experienced Building Safety Manager to lead the compliance and safety initiatives for our high-risk residential properties. About the Role

Reporting to the Principal Building Safety Manager, you will: Ensure Compliance:

Oversee adherence to the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and related legislation. Collaborate & Lead:

Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and residents to promote safety awareness and maintain transparency. Deliver Safety Reports:

Prepare Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) applications and detailed safety case reports. Identify & Improve Risks:

Conduct building inspections, recommend improvements, and oversee fire safety enhancements. Support Development:

Maintain the Golden Thread of Information for new and existing high-risk buildings.

About You

Skills & Experience Required: Extensive knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and related legislation. Proven experience in residential building management, construction, or compliance. A strong track record of delivering customer satisfaction, ideally in a local government setting. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a solutions-focused mindset.

Technical Expertise: Competence in compliance software, risk assessment tools, and detailed report preparation. Experience in managing safety risks and recommending remedial actions.

Desirable Qualifications: Training in building management or construction. Familiarity with building control, planning, or listed building consent processes.
